There are job titles you will come across that immediately make you think, I don't have experience doing that.
Sometimes that is the case.
But sometimes, you need to keep reading.
A title gives you an idea of what a position might be. The job description tells you what the organization actually needs you to do.
As you read through the description, that is where you might start recognizing things.
The posting indicates they are looking for someone who can review information and identify inconsistencies.
You think to yourself, Oh, I have done that.
They need someone who can interpret policies and make sure requirements are being followed.
That is also something you have done.
They may need someone who can coordinate with different teams, track information, prepare reports, train others, or recognize when something isn't working.
You may have done some of those things throughout your experience too.
However, that does not automatically mean you're qualified for the position. Education requirements, specialized experience, certifications, and other qualifications still matter.
But you can evaluate those requirements after you understand what the job actually needs you to do.
When you rule yourself out based on the title, you never get far enough to make that comparison.
You don't see where your experience aligns.
You don't see where there may be gaps.
You also don't get the opportunity to make an informed decision about whether the position is worth pursuing.
Don't let an unfamiliar job title make the decision for you. Read what they're actually asking you to do.
The goal isn't to convince yourself that you're qualified for everything.
It's to get better at recognizing when what an organization needs may already exist somewhere in your experience.
