This week, someone told me they have the skills, experience, multiple qualifications, and a Master's degree.
Then they told me they still feel like a fraud.
I thought that was interesting.
Because I hear some version of this all the time.
People tell me:
"I don't think I'm qualified."
"I don't think I'm ready."
"I don't think I know enough."
And then they spend the next ten minutes describing years of experience, accomplishments, and expertise.
The evidence and the story they're telling themselves don't match.
Meanwhile, someone else is applying for the job, asking for the promotion, or starting the business.
Not because they're more qualified.
Because they're more willing to believe they might be.
One thing I've noticed is that confidence and competence are not the same thing.
Sometimes the most qualified person in the room is the one questioning themselves the most.
Something to think about.
To landing what you've earned,
Kourtney
