Over the past week, I've had dozens of conversations with professionals who all believed they had different career problems.

One thought they needed to go back to school.

Another thought their experience was too niche.

Someone else wanted to leave mental health altogether because they were completely exhausted.

Another wondered if they should become a project manager.

Different stories.

Same underlying question.

"What should I do next?"

Here's what I've noticed over the years.

Most people don't lack ambition.

They don't lack intelligence.

They don't even lack experience.

They lack clarity.

When you don't have clarity, every option feels equally risky.

Should I go back to school?

Should I get another certification?

Should I change industries?

Should I stay where I am?

The temptation is to collect more credentials before understanding what problem you're actually trying to solve.

Sometimes another degree is exactly the right move.

Sometimes it isn't.

The difference is clarity.

Before investing more time, money, or energy, ask yourself:

  • What kind of work gives me energy?

  • What problems do I naturally enjoy solving?

  • What strengths have I been using without giving myself credit?

  • What do I want my work to make possible in my life?

Those answers often reveal more than another certification ever could.

You're not underqualified.

You may simply be trying to solve the wrong problem.

If you're tired of trying to figure it out on your own, I'd love to help.
