Over the past week, I've noticed the same theme coming up again and again.
"I think I've reached my ceiling."
"I don't know what's next."
"I've been doing this for years, and I can't see another path."
Those conversations reminded me of something important.
Sometimes we've reached the ceiling of our current role, not the ceiling of our potential.
There's a difference.
One of the biggest mistakes I see experienced helping professionals make is assuming their next opportunity has to look like the one they're leaving.
It doesn't.
The skills you've spent years building like problem-solving, collaboration, crisis management, documentation, relationship building, systems thinking, program coordination don't disappear because you're ready for something different.
They simply need to be translated.
That's why I created MISTRANSLATED.
Not because people aren't qualified.
Because so many qualified professionals can't see how valuable their experience really is outside the role they've always known.
If you've been feeling like you've reached your ceiling, I'd encourage you to ask yourself one question:
Have I reached my ceiling… or have I simply outgrown my current role?
Those aren't the same thing.
Sometimes your next chapter isn't about starting over.
It's about seeing your experience through a different lens.
